nest-control is a private, single-user command-line tool. It is operated by its owner to control their own Google Nest thermostat. It has no other users.
When authorized by the owner, nest-control uses Google's Smart Device Management API to read thermostat state (temperature, humidity, mode, HVAC status, and target temperatures) and to send thermostat commands.
Thermostat data is displayed in the owner's terminal and is not stored, logged to any server, analyzed, or transmitted anywhere other than between the owner's own computer and Google's API.
OAuth credentials and the refresh token are stored in a file on the owner's own computer, readable only by the owner's user account. They are not shared with anyone.
No data is sold, shared, or disclosed to any third party. There are no analytics, advertising, or tracking components. The only external service contacted is Google's own API.
Use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
No thermostat data is retained. Access can be revoked at any time by the owner from their Google Account permissions page, which invalidates the stored token.
